Sky Garden house or Meera house is an architectural wonder with lush green roof gardens on each level designed by the Guz Architects. It is located on Sentosa Island, earlier known as Palau Blakang Mati. A small fishing village developed by the Government of Singapore as a resort island and a tourist place. Sentosa means tranquility and peace, but it is buzzing with recreational events throughout the year. Sentosa Island is surrounded by the trendiest, sunny beaches in Singapore. Sentosa beaches are perfect for recreational activities such as beach volleyball, rollerblading, cycling or kayaking. The sandy beaches lined up with palm trees, alang alang huts and quaint flowering trees are also perfect for a long stroll.
Sky Garden house with a beautifully curved roof is snuggled up in a small plot of land surrounded by the neighboring houses. It is caged among solid walls on each side of the plot, unraveling it from the closely placed neighbors. All the levels of this four story building are connected by a spiral staircase. The staircase is built in the center of the house. Well like opening in the center allows light and sea breeze to circulate in the house. The front and rear portions are utilized to design beautiful roof gardens and terrace gardens. Each terrace has a beautiful view of the surroundings and access to the beautifully trimmed roof gardens. Roof of the lower level acts as a terrace garden to the upper level. Each level gets the feeling of a single story independent house with a beautiful garden.
